This Week in Washington - December 10, 2018

December 10, 2018

The President and Congress spent last week trying to finish up the work of this Congress and strategizing about the next. Washington and the nation also spent last week paying respects and celebrating the life of President George Herbert Walker Bush.

Jim Miller gives us a progress report on the Lame Duck Session, and then provides his reflections on the funeral of the late President Bush in Miller Time. Jake Ostenso offers his Agency Watch. Steve Gordon ties the week together in Heard on the Hill. Dana Marston shares this week’s legislative calendar, and takes a look at federal and state funding.

Congress is scheduled to be in Washington through December 14th, and there’s every reason to believe that we won’t adjourn until December 21st or 22nd. We’ll aim to circulate our next report on December 14th.
