Greg Zerzan is Senior Advisor to Total Spectrum and consultant in the financial markets arena. He is recognized as a leading international expert with respect to the regulation of capital markets and public policy surrounding such regulation.
Greg is a lawyer who began his career in public policy as chief counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture. He moved from the Agriculture Committee to the position of Senior Counsel on the Financial Services Committee of the U.S. House. While at that committee, Greg served as lead counsel on the Sarbanes- Oxley Act and the Commodity Futures Modernization Act.
Greg also served in the United States Treasury, first as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions and later as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Institutions. In that position, Greg was the top regulator of United States financial institutions, terrorism risk insurance and the oversight of government sponsored enterprises. He testified before Congress on numerous occasions and has published extensively in the area of financial regulation and public policy.
Most recently, Greg has served as Counsel and Head of Global Public Policy for the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (“ISDA”). He represented ISDA before Congress, federal agencies as well as state and foreign governments. He has lectured extensively on Over the Counter derivatives and regulatory issues. Greg is a frequent guest on MSNBC, CNBC and Fox News Channel where he discusses the capital markets and legislation aimed at regulating such markets.
