Al Jackson


Senior Advisor

Al Jackson is the President of the Jackson Group, with offices in Lehi, Utah and Washington DC, and serves as a Senior Advisor to Total Spectrum. His primary focus is in
areas related to defense, foreign affairs policy, tax, homeland security, and business
development.

Before founding the Jackson Group, Al served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing at
Insitu, Inc. with responsibility for company sales, marketing and government relations.
Insitu, Inc., located in Bingen, Washington, is now a wholly owned subsidiary of The
Boeing Company. Insitu, Inc. specializes in the design, development and production of
small autonomous aircraft for Unmanned Aircraft Systems for Intelligence, Surveillance
and Reconnaissance in both military and commercial aviation applications. Tremendous
growth in revenue occurred under Al’s leadership.

Prior to joining Insitu, Inc., Al served as Principal of The Jackson Group, which
specialized in helping its clients achieve their objectives in Washington, DC. He
provided strategic counsel on matters involving national security, foreign affairs policy,
homeland security, aviation/transportation, and business development. Before forming
his own company, Al served as Director, Legislative Affairs for The Boeing Company,
where he primarily focused on issues concerning defense, foreign military sales, national
security and commercial aviation. His career in Washington, DC began 18 years ago at
the General Aviation Manufacturer’s Association where he represented manufacturers
of general aviation aircraft, engines, avionics and component parts. During his tenure
at GAMA, Al helped garner support for the General Aviation Revitalization Act (1994),
which enabled the general aviation industry, decimated by product liability, to re-open
their production lines and hire 25,000 people over a 5-year period.

Al has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Business Administration from Embry-
Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Business Administration degree from
Johns Hopkins University. Al received the Embry-Riddle Graduate of the Last Decade
Award in 2000, the Distinguished Graduate Award from the National Association of
Intercollegiate Athletics, and he mentors young people in a variety of settings. He
also serves on Embry-Riddle University’s President’s Advisory Board, Brigham Young
University Marriott Business School National Advisory Committee, and is a Board
Member of Next Door, Inc. (Big Brothers/Big Sisters). He also serves on the faculty of
The Thomas Jefferson Center for Constitutional Studies. Al resides in Lehi, Utah with
his wife, Juleen and their 5 young children; Kayla (16); Franklin (12); Mary Alice (11);
Alvin III (7); and Marie (3).
