Michael Sowers
Founding Partner, Pacific Fundraising Group
Michael Sowers has a unique background that combines his business and political skills into a knowledgeable, aggressive and successful approach to issues management, public affairs consulting and fundraising.
Born in California, Michael received his Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Sacramento in Management and Marketing. He then created and managed several successful business partnerships and ventures, including the initial development and operational systems of a latex glove distribution company.
Although successful in business, his interests took him into the world of politics. Michael has provided both general consulting as well as specialized fundraising skills to numerous statewide political campaigns in California, including the very successful “No on Proposition 72 campaign – Government Run Healthcare,” numerous statewide constitutional office campaigns for Governor, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Controller, Insurance Commissioner, and the “Yes on Proposition 22” campaign. During the mid 1990’s, Michael also served as Finance Director for Curt Pringle, the last Republican Speaker in the California State Assembly.
Michael has worked on several federal-level campaigns such as Bush-Cheney 2004, the 55th Presidential Inaugural, the U.S. Senate campaigns of Jim Talent, John Thune, Conrad Burns, Pat Roberts, Mitch McConnell, Norm Coleman, John Cornyn, Bill Frist, John Ensign, along with several U.S. Senate candidates.
These operational, fundraising and business skills have also led Michael to produce many live events, including the Inaugural California Manufacturers Gala. The event was so successful that it was attended by over 96% of California’s Constitutional Officers, State Senators and State Assembly members, as well as hundreds of CEO’s from around the state. He also produced the Pfizer Inc. “Day at the Capitol,” the largest event of its kind ever held in Sacramento for one company.
Michael is currently one of the Founding Partners of Pacific Fundraising Group, a California-based company working on both political and charitable fundraising projects in California and the Western United States.
